Tertiary Pathways

The process of subject selection for senior secondary students enables them to access a number of pathway options leading to tertiary studies or employment on completing Year 12.  A range of of opportunities are available to students for university studies, work placements, school-based apprenticeships and traineeships.  The school counsellors assist students in the subject selection process to maximise their tertiary sector opportunities in accordance with their career goals, interests and capabilities

    • There are many talented Art students in the College. The highlight of the year is the SLC Art Exhibition which showcases the quality paintings, sketches, drawings, sculptures and photos the boys have produced.
    • Debating has been a popular activity amongst student for many years.
    • There have also been opportunities for our Drama students. In 2016 the musical 'Guys and Dolls' was a great success.
  • School Music Program
    • St Laurence’s offers a vibrant and inclusive music program covering classroom, instrumental and vocal music. The music program has a strong influence within the College, involving over 600 students from Years 5 to 12. All boys enrolled at the College are encouraged to be involved in a large variety of ensembles encompassing many standards, musical styles and genres. 
    • Old Boys of the College have gone on to perform, record and compose professionally with various national and international classical artists and ensembles.


The College has a long sporting history with proud traditions and outstanding achievements. St Laurence’s sporting facilities include an indoor multi-purpose court and weights area, an additional outdoor multi-purpose court and a multi-purpose state of the art synthetic grassfield located on-site with a further eight grass ovals (three of which have turf wickets) located at the College’s Runcorn Playing Fields.

St Laurence’s College is a member school of the Associated Independent Colleges (AIC) – Years 5 to 12 and Regional Sporting Organisations. The association sports are Cricket, Swimming, Volleyball (Trimester 1), Cross Country, Football (Soccer), Rugby, (Trimester 2) and Athletics, Basketball, Tennis, (Trimester 3). AIC Chess is also played in Trimester 2. In addition to these sports, AFL, Golf, Water Polo, Rugby League, Futsal and Touch Football are offered to students in selected year levels.
